Fair Use Policy

1. Purpose​

This Fair Use Policy ("Policy") ensures equitable access, reliability, and sustainability of Sharpbet's API ("API") for all users. By using the API, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2. Fair Use Guidelines​

2.1 Rate Limits​

Rate limits are specified on each request page. Circumventing rate limits by using alternating API keys between requests is prohibited and is punishable as per 3.2.

2.2 Acceptable Use​

You may use the API for:

  • Personal betting analytics.
  • Non-commercial research/education.
  • Internal business operations (e.g., tracking odds for your betting strategy).

2.3 Prohibited Use​

You may not:

  • Scrape or cache data beyond documented endpoints.
  • Resell or redistribute API data without written permission.
  • Overload servers via excessive polling.
  • Bypass authentication/rate limits (e.g., multiple accounts, IP rotation).
  • Use the API for illegal activities (e.g., fraud, match-fixing).

3. Enforcement​

3.1 Monitoring​

We monitor API usage to detect abuse, including, but not limited to:

  • Unauthorized commercial use.
  • Repeated policy violations.

3.2 Violation Consequences​

  1. First Offense: Warning + 24-hour suspension.
  2. Second Offense: Permanent termination without refund.
  3. Egregious Abuse: Legal action (e.g., DMCA, CFAA claims).

4. Changes to This Policy​

We may update this Policy with 30 days' notice via email or API status page. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
